We built KampKiepie because finding a good campsite, cabin, or getaway shouldn't mean scrolling through ten different websites and Facebook groups. One place, every kind of stay, from POP stopovers to full family lodges.
KampKiepie began life in July 2025 as an app — a simple idea to bring South Africa's incredible campsites, guesthouses, and getaways together in one place, instead of scattered across ten different websites and Facebook groups.
As the vision for KampKiepie grew, it became clear the original platform simply couldn't keep up — it was too restrictive and too slow to support where we wanted to take things next. So we made the call to rebuild KampKiepie from the ground up as a fully optimised website, built to handle the scale and features our vision actually needs.
That rebuild is what powers KampKiepie today: a directory and booking platform that understands how South Africans really travel — WhatsApp-first, community-driven, and covering everything from a weekend POP stopover to a week-long family lodge booking.
